As a citizen of 21st century, you most probably have a smartphone that you are very much fond of. May be all the members of your family have one SM (smartphone) each. Some families even give their 12 years old adolescence one such, knowing they don’t deserve it at all. Using a SM is not a bad idea, but it becomes dangerous when the user gets addicted to it. Let us now see a few points of it.
Smartphone makes you awkward
People are using a SMART phone indeed, but they themselves are becoming more awkward day by day by the excessive use of it. Young generations now-a-days, they are good at making high scores in games and operating many sophisticated apps. But they are loosing their social skills, many-a-times they speak out of place. Sometimes they behave and talk like idiots. Boys who use smartphone excessively might not even know how to properly talk to a girl or approach them.
Smartphone makes it hard to focus
Smartphones are a distraction to everyone. Suppose you’re a student and trying to focus on some learning topic at your reading table or in your college library. But your SM doesn’t allow to do that. It vibrates every few minutes, letting you know that you have a new email or sms or chat conversation. Then you just quit on your studies and focus on your smartphone instead. The same thing is happening to almost everyone else in the society. A businessperson attending a meeting gets easily distracted by their SM. Even a mom who has an infant to take care of, may forget about her child while browsing and playing with her SM. Another example of such distraction is driving while texting, don’t you ever do that as you should know what might be the consequences of it.
Short life of phone-battery
You know perfectly well that your smartphone battery doesn’t run a long time even if you fully charged it. This is a common problem for all. Take me for example. When I go outside I always consider whether I should take my SM or the non-smart one. Recently I have been choosing the second one frequently as it would never disappoint me in the time of need (when I need to make a call or someone calls me).
I believe that many people are getting back to their non-smart phones because of this situation. When you take your SM and stays outside for a couple of hours without charging the SM-battery and constantly use apps like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter etc. you’re sure to have your SM shutdown ultimately. When this happens you can’t call anyone if that’s the only phone you got at that time, nor anyone can reach you. Think of a situation when you’re a victim of a car-crash and urgently need to make a phone-call, but your phone-battery being just dead doesn’t let you do that.
Auto-correction by smartphone of your mistakes
Suppose you’re typing a short message to someone and made a mistake while doing that. Most SM apps auto-correct mistakes like that. But people hardly check back the status of their current doing after the auto-correction. As a result of that misunderstanding can take place between people (the text-sender and the receiver in this case) because of some unexpected and undetected doing. So we better be aware before turning on auto-correction in certain app.
Google and other companies save your images and documents
It is now-a-days a common practice among people that they use many smartphone apps to save their images and documents. This practice surely can destroy your privacy. Because companies like Google are already trying their best to understand everything about you, even if you don’t want them to. (They’re doing this to enhance their marketing and provide the right product/services that you’re interested in)
