Recently Youtube has been losing more advertisements due to having content that promotes terrorism and low-class videos. As a result of that, Youtube now runs the risk of losing their million-dollar business. Recently a few more big business organizations have declared to boycott Youtube on advertisements which in turn may affect youtube earnings. They allege that their ads are shown besides videos that promotes terrorism and nudity/sexuality.
Some organizations already have declared to stop/withhold giving advertisements on Youtube. More names are being added to this list. Many advertisers have expressed their suspicion about Google’s ability to stop showing ads besides low-class videos. Last Friday (24th march, 2017) Pepsi co, Walmart Stores and Starbucks confirmed that they have temporarily stopped putting ads on Youtube. One article published in Wall-street Journal says that Google’s automated system has associated their brand with at least five videos that are alleged to have racist content. Currently four hundred hours of videos are uploaded on Youtube every minute. Advertisements are automatically shown before, after and in the middle of these videos. Now the question is, will Google take measures to save youtube earnings?
Google promises to overcome this issue
When contacted, Google promises to stick to their latest policy on this issue. The organization hints that they are hopeful about satisfying their clients (advertisers). Google has recently announced that they will stress further to stop showing ads besides videos that preach hate, attack and harm. The chief Business Official of the organization Philipp Schindler wrote on a blog-post on last Tuesday that ‘We are concerned that this is not acceptable to the advertisers and organizations who put their faith in us.’ He promised to appoint even more officials in the company to review all the videos of Youtube to find the ones ineligible to show ads with.
But Google’s chief Business Official’s promise didn’t apparently assure the advertisers organizations. Even after his speech, HSBC Holdings, Royal Bank of Scotland, Lauriel, multinational telecommunication organization AT&T, internet company Verizon Fios, German car manufacturers Volkswagen and Audi and many other business organizations like these have decided to boycott Youtube.

Youtube channel suspended within 24 hours of creation?
Youtube authority may choose to ban your device (laptop, desktop , mobile phone etc.) for a number of reasons. This is surely a bigger punishment to you than simply having your Youtube channel suspended. Because no matter how many times you create a new Google account or Youtube channel from that device, you will find it suspended the very next day. I have had some experience regarding that which I’m going to share with you guys. FYI Google might ban your device if you do something that feels very irritating to a google official, like submitting false copyright claims.
In July 2016, one of my channels which ran very successfully for about a month came to a deadlock all of a sudden. The number of views per day decreased by 90% all of a sudden without any apparent reason. I thought that may be some of my online enemies randomly reported my channel, that’s why this happened. Then in August 2016, another channel of mine ran successfully for one month. And when it was in the climax of success it received two community strikes out of the blue in the same day.
That’s when I got really angry, I turned on my online enemies. The problem was that I didn’t know who they were. Some of them might have been from my old office where I used to work. They were subscribers to my very first Youtube channel, so they were able to track my every activity on Youtube.
How I imposed illegal copyright strikes on many channels
In my channel which received two community strikes I had a couple of videos which were later published by many channels. Although those videos were not exactly mine, but I still could impose copyright strikes if I wanted to. because they had been published on my channel before they were on others’ channels. So I started this game of fun; I started imposing copyright strikes on many channels. This way I made many people suffer by having their Youtube accounts suspended.
They were asking me why I was doing this. But I was silent, because I didn’t know who they were. They were sounding nice on email, yet they could be my deadly enemies who previously had made me suffer. So I was silent and literally demolishing everything in my path. I surely had terminated many innocent people’s channels at that time, but I was just out of my head and enjoying the entire thing (having others’ Youtube accounts suspended) very much.
Now you guys must be thinking I’m such an evil minded individual. Well, think twice before blaming it entirely on me, because YouTube’s copyright system is flawed itself (if not now, then it was in 2016). To know more about this, read the following article:
Then at a point I was challenged by Youtube authority that I might not have proper grounds for copyright claim on those videos, but I was still stubborn and showed some false confidence. As a result I was caught in the act; they suspended all my Google accounts and banned my particular device which was a Windows tab. To this day I can not open any new Google account or channel in that device; because if I do, I have my Youtube channel suspended the very next day. So it is my wise suggestions to all you youtubers: never try to cheat Google, because they have every bit of information about you. Also Google is getting smarter day by day.
In the end, for your information, Google might ban your device for other reasons as well, like stealing someone’s else’s videos, using misleading metadata, even having a channel suspended etc. So always beware.
A glimpse of Youtube analytics on channel dashboard
My youtube views and subscriber count are decreasing day by day? Why is it happening?
You most probably followed your Youtube channel’s dashboard. Your dashboard shows analytics for the last 28 days. Suppose today is 31 January and your Youtube dashboard shows analytics for January 02-29 and in this time-interval you had 950,000 views, $190 earnings and 100 new subscribers; but your views were 1,000,000, earnings were $200 and new subscribers were 95 for January 01-28. So when your analytics were updated from January 28 to January 29, you saw a decrease in views, earnings and subscriber count and you got really shocked as to why the hell earnings should decrease.
Well, now you know the reason. People who started youtubing recently, are likely to go through this experience. If you want to see analytics (views, earnings and subscriber count) for lifetime, follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/analytics?o=U . You will get to the ‘analytics page’ of Youtube. In the top-right corner, you will see this drop-down box.
The option to choose time-interval to view analytics
You click on the box and you get to see the following drop-down menu.
Choose one time-interval to view analytics
From here, you either select ‘Lifetime’ or ‘Custom range’, if you need to see analytics for a particular time-range.
Can I get a copyright strike if I don’t monetize the video?
Yes, you can. Although you’re not monetizing the video, but you can still have new subscribers through this video and thus grow your channel. So before you use someone else’s video, be sure to have the video-owner’s permission, or they may choose to impose a copyright strike on your channel.
Do Youtube authority always work on ‘strikes’ basis?
Many people in recent days have been reporting that their channel didn’t have any copyright or community strikes. Yet all of a sudden it got terminated. Why this happened? Well, Youtube has a policy that they might terminate a Youtube account if the user is found to have done a severe violation, like threatening someone through a video or showing predatory behavior, impersonation, hate-speech etc. So if you ever find your Youtube account suspended all of a sudden without receiving any reason from the Youtube authority, just come to know that you most-probably have done such a violation. Nevertheless, you could still appeal the suspension of your channel, if you believe that it was terminated in error.

Youtube copyright claim: How to initiate the process
You have put a lot of efforts in creating your own videos, but someone simply reuploaded them onto their channel? Learn how to report them and take the allegedly infringing videos down by Youtube copyright claim. You need to take actions in the following manner:
(1) While watching a video from someone else’s channel, you have just discovered that it was copied from yours and now you decide to report it. Well, in order to do that, you need to go to the lower portion of the video screen and hit the ‘more’ button, then ‘report’ option.
(Make sure that you have logged into a youtube account under the gmail address which represents the channel whose video has been stolen. This is mandatory to submit Youtube copyright claim.) You will get to see the following options:
When you are on Youtube copyright claim page
You choose ‘Infringes my copyright’ under ‘Infringes my rights’ option and then hit the submit button. You’ll directed to the following page with url https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2807622 which is the Youtube copyright claim page.
Youtube’s copyright page
This time you hit the ‘Submit a copyright complaint’ button. You’ll reach the ultimate page with url https://www.youtube.com/copyright_complaint_form (you can directly come to this page by simply typing this url into the address bar of your browser).
Choose an option to report a particular video
You choose ‘Copyright infringement (someone copied my creation)’ and ‘I am’ options. Remember that you can not submit a copyright infringement notice on somebody else’s behalf, unless you somehow represent that person. Even if you represent that person, in order to report a copyright infringement on their behalf, you’ll need to log into the youtube account that represents the channel whose video has been stolen. This is just a part of the process for Youtube copyright claim.
Enter the details of your original video and the infringing video to be removed
Giving details of the original and infringing videos
In the next section of the ‘copyright’ page, you’ll be filling details of the stolen video. If the video was directly reuploaded, then you’ll choose the option ‘My Youtube video was reuploaded by another user’. Also you enter the url of the pirated/duplicated video (allegedly infringing video to be removed) and that of your original video. Now you can choose an option between ‘Entire video’ (if your entire video was stolen. In this case the alleged video will be equal to or lengthier than your original video) and ‘Time stamps’ (if your video was partially stolen). If you choose ‘Time stamps’, then just know that these ‘Time stamps’ represent the ones of the pirated/duplicate video, not your original video.
If only the audio portion of your video was stolen
Now learn to do Youtube copyright claim if only the audio portion of your video was stolen. In this case you’ll choose ‘other’ instead of ‘My Youtube video was reuploaded by another user’.
Choose a particular type of copyright infringement
In the ‘Type of copyrighted work’ box. you will write ‘Audio of a video of youtube channel’. Then you will give the title of your original video. In the ‘Additional information’ box, you will write “The url of my original video is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EROaOmx***. That guy just downloaded my video, converted it into an mp3 file, merged that with another video file and reuploaded.” You could use a little bit different language or even your own language of description. Whatever you choose to write, it has to be within 200 words.
I just used the above-mentioned language and had youtube authority to take countless videos down. So to me, this is a ‘working’ language in case only the audio portion of a certain youtube video is stolen. Lastly you will need to mention whether the stolen content is present in the entire video or a part of it. If it is present only in a part of the alleged video, then you need to mention the time stamps (like 0:30-3:30).
Enter your (copyright claimant) personal details
Giving the copyright claimant’s details
Now you need to provide the copyright holder’s name. It is necessary because this name will be shown in the place where the video has been taken down. This could be either your official name or your channel’s name. I personally prefer to provide my official name here. I have a feeling that if the culprit (who stole the video) gets to know my channel’s name, they might come up with their gang to randomly flag my videos/channel and thus could have their revenge by getting my channel suspended.
Anyway, in the ‘Authority to make this complaint’ section, you need to enter ‘Creator and proprietor of the video’, because you may not submit a copyright claim on behalf of someone else (individual). But you can submit a claim on behalf of a company, if you somehow represent that company. In that case, your role might be different, like ‘legal adviser’. After that you need to fill in your personal details.
Enter your (copyright claimant) personal details (continued)
Confession of your sincerity and confidence about the copyright claim
This time you need to tick a few boxes, by doing which you take full responsibility if any forgery attempt in submission process is found (like submitting a false intentional copyright claim). In that case your youtube account might be terminated. That’s why it is best not to attempt any such claim. Even if you submit a true copyright claim and then in reply youtube authority says that they suspect you have given them fraudulent information, then it’s best to not choose to fight them on this issue and simply reply that ‘I hereby withdraw my claim for this video with url ….’. At least, this way you could save your channel.
Things that you have to confess before the submission
